Retrieve and Throw
We created this activity to work on our pick up, turn and throw. Using the 2 colours on the Action Targets we were able to replicate an in game scenario, Red/Blue = Bowlers/Keepers end.
Pick Up and Throw
Using this set up with Action Targets we created an activity to practice the one and two handed pick up and throw. Using the 2 colours on the Action Targets we were able to replicate an in game scenario, Red/Blue = Bowlers/Keepers end.
Off and On
Using the 2 Action Targets we created an activity where the batsman has to react to a call, focusing on finding a gap in the field.
Progressing to an underarm feed we increased the challenge.

One Handed Pick Up
Using both Action Targets and a Drill Point we created a practice that allowed us to work on the one handed pick up and throw, a skill used close to the wicket to affect run outs. Using the different coloured Action Target we created an match like scenario where the fielder had to react to the call of the feeder… Red or Blue / Keeper or Bowler!
Throughout the activity we found that this was also a great way of working on our fitness!
