14 June – A Cornucopia of Cricketing Fun at the Cornish Cricket Festival
This year’s Cornish Cricket Festival hosted in Truro led to a draw during the first match of the festival between Somerset v Unicorns in the YB40 Competition, due to a heavy downpour which stopped play after the Unicorns had opened up the batting with a good first innings.
The hardy ECB Cricket Factory crew were on hand fortunately, braving the wind and rain to keep the crowds entertained although even though they were thoroughly soaked by the end of the day.
An impressive crowd turned up for the event and there was a healthy number of young people there despite it being a school day! However, our favourites on the day were the gents reliving their youth and competing against each other on the speed throw challenge.
We were there alongside Cornwall Cricket helping promote the opportunities available in the county including coaching, matches, junior cricket and adult activities. For more information about how you can get involved, check out: http://www.cornwallcricket.co.uk/
