Asked with what disability they wanted to support, Old Elizabethans CC in Worcester answered VI Cricket. To celebrate the launch of VI Cricket within the County the club open day was set up by Lynne Newall.

To kick start the day the England VI Team played against a select eleven from the club, which was then followed by a second match which included visitors from the local blind college and members of the public who had come to see how VI Cricket was played.

The Rig created a safe place for young blind children and adults who had never had the chance to play cricket before to get an idea of what VI Cricket is about. We used our normal batting and throwing targets with the VI Ball and used clapping and noises to guide where the participant had to throw or bat. Many of the visitors were completely surprised with how well they did.

We were thrilled to hear that 3 of our blind visitors went on to join in on the match later in the afternoon, with one young lady actually signing up to join the club.

Alongside the ECB Cricket Factory Rig Worcester Cricket had set up a range of ECB Cricket Factory equipment for anyone attending the day to have a go on.
