We were approached by the ECB to supply Cricket Factory equipment for their Cricket Talent Testing (CTT) Programme at Loughborough.
The CTT is a residential programme that runs over 4 days at Loughborough University for the best U13 and U16 cricketers in the country. There is no coaching, it is purely assessment on an individual’s ability to function well under stress and tiredness is part of the examination.
The equipment was used in the following ways:
- To test reaction, co-ordination and movement.
- To challenge the players to devise various fielding drills which would meet specific outcomes such as maximum participation, developing hand eye co-ordination, differentiation and fun.
It was used with other existing equipment and was extremely user friendly for both staff and players, it allowed great flexibility and provided options for both players and coaches.
The ECB have shown that the equipment can be beneficial to not only the beginner in cricket but it will also enhance the learning of the ‘best’ cricketers out there.
