The only festival of its kind the Living Islam Festival is held at the Lincolnshire Show ground and is four days of learning, prayer and understanding the muslim faith alongside arts and crafts, music, sports and family activities.
We were invited by the organisers to take the ECB Cricket Factory Rig to support the sports activities on the second day of the festival, where we worked with young muslims aged between 12 and 16.
The group of young girls and boys had not been told what they would be doing in their sport session so there were a few puzzled looks as they were greeted by Ex England cricket captain, Mike Gatting! We had great fun with all of the groups who visited throughout the day and hope we have inspired both the girls and boys to play more cricket in the future.
