Following last years rather wet and cold day we were thrilled to be looking forward to a full three days of sunshine at the Great Yorkshire Show, and by the numbers that attended we weren’t the only ones - over 130,000 visitors came through the gates with record numbers visiting the ECB Cricket Factory rig that was situated in the Discovery Zone on the show ground.
Alongside the rig Yorkshire Cricket Board set up an information stand providing information on local clubs and schemes around the county, including the work with Chance to Shine, Disability groups and womens and girls programmes. As well as proving all the information you could ever need they also operated an online questionnaire to help them further understand, not only about where and how cricket is played in Yorkshire, but also who is playing. A new addition to the Discovery Zone was the YCCC Museum trailer which proved to be very popular with the dads who had visited the rig.
Another great show which brought a vast array of ages and abilities onto the rig, we’re already looking forward to next year!
