ECB Cricket Factory came top of many local school children’s list of things to see at this year’s Westmorland Show with many of the children remembering and returning to the rig from 2 year’s ago. It was great to see the young people again and help them try and improve their scores as they learned and practised cricket’s core skills on the rig.
We were delighted to welcome a group from the charity Chernobyl’s Children who were trying cricket for the first time. The children are part of an annual trip to the UK supported by the Friend’s of Chernobyl’s Children and are provided with food and shelter for a month to boost their immune systems affected so badly by life in their own country. For more information, check out their websitehttp://www.focc.org.uk/. The youngsters enjoyed the challenges on the rig and gave some impressive performances.
We were ably assisted on the day by a number of Cumbria Cricket’s finest including Alastair and Marc who assisted with coaching activities. The show saw thousands of visitors flocking to its attractions, which included agricultural events, livestock shows, classes and experiences.
