The annual Wheelchair Sports Spectacular in Cardiff attracts around 500 participants to try 20 different sports at a 2 day event organised by Disability Sports Wales.
The event is aimed at disabled players and their families and aims to demonstrate the accessibility of a number of different sports which they may not have considered previously.
The ECB Cricket Factory Rig was a great attraction and it was the second time we’d supported this fantastic event. We have always prided ourselves on helping to increase accessibility and reducing barriers to all ages and abilities playing sport.
The activities on the rig were the same that we always use on the ECB Cricket Factory tour and included the speed throw, batting and catching challenges. This really demonstrates the total accessibility of cricket and the Cricket Factory equipment across all abilities.
All competitors experienced the full range of challenges on the rig including wheelchair users and those with learning-based disabilities.
