The Clydesbank 40 event in Taunton with Surrey playing against Somerset proved that yet again the Summer of 2012 will be on record as a rather damp one.

With only 4 overs played before rain stopped play for the day, the whole event was pretty challenging for all involved. With a number of other group games on the day ending in a no result due to the weather, it really was a victory for the great British rain over cricket.

For the second Sunday in a row we set up the rig in glorious sunshine, maybe the summer is finally here! We weren’t in our usual Headingley spot for this event though, we were placed behind the big screen, closer to all the other Children’s Day action.

As the gates opened, one of the first participants through the doors of the rig was Celebrity Chef Brian Turner CBE shortly followed by the Lord Mayor of Leeds Ann Castle, who threw a very respectable 32mph on the Speed Throw! […]
