Up and down the County Brownie groups have been celebrating the 100th Birthday of the Brownies. With Northumberland Cricket developing strong links for girls playing the game this event was always going to be one to attend.

500 young girls and their pack leaders arrived at Kirkley Hall on a rather damp Saturday morning to experience a variety of sporting and arts activities.

Joining us on the Rig were a group of Young Sport Leaders who were being supported through their coaching programmes by the Tony Blair Foundation – big thanks to all of the girls that gave up their Saturday to work with us and help give the Brownies that attended a great, fun experience.

Jo Herbetson, Lead Women’s and Girls Coach handed each of the Brownie groups an information pack detailing where they can play and what support is available.
