It may not be the weather for it – but pupils at a Yarm primary school have been bowled over at winning some smart new cricket equipment.
Yarm Cricket Club awarded the prize of a Cricket Factory core skills set to Levendale Primary after being knocked for six by their competition entry.
The club was impressed by how active the school is in the sport and particularly by how many girls play cricket.
The school team are no strangers to cricketing success having recently played at Headingley, the home of Yorkshire Cricket Club.
Katherine Butterfield, PE subject leader, said: “With the help of the new kit pupils hope to be on top batting form when the new cricket season begins.”
