The ECB Cricket Factory summer 2012 tour motors on with a fantastic event – the Friends Life T20 final day held at the SWALEC stadium in Cardiff.

We were lucky enough to be part of the popular Fanzone area, on the lawn in front of the Really Welsh Pavilion where fans were enjoying the refreshments on offer in the glorious Welsh sunshine.

We had a couple of VIP guests during the day including Paul Nixon – former England wicket keeper – who did a grand job coaching a number of young guys particularly with regards to posture and getting  in the right stance for throwing, after having a throw himself and proving that he’s still got it with a 72mph. In addition Rory Bremner, who was a special guest star of the event, showed his own cricketing skills to be none too shabby either. At one point, we didn’t think we could get him to leave he was having so much fun with us!

There was a great atmosphere in general at the event, with lots of fancy dress and free team hard hats given out at the Twelfth man hub. Everyone really got involved with the spirit of the day and with both semi finals and the final taking place, it was easy to see why.

Hampshire were the ultimate victors on the day,  but there were no losers in reality as it was a fantastic event for all fans of cricket.
